I chose this photo because of the strong composition all throughout the image. The lighting is directly on the dog’s face and creates a focal point of the dog’s eyes and nose up against the window. The dog’s face is in focus and the background is more blurry, helping draw the viewer’s eyes to the dog. There are many different lines in the photo, including the porch, tree branches, and curtains in the background. The dog’s face shows a lot of texture with the fur. The rule of thirds helps strengthen the image because both the dog and the dog’s reflection follow the rules. The camera settings used to take this picture were a shutter speed 1/1400, aperture f/1.8, ISO 32, and white balance daylight/sunny. I think this image expresses a sense of patience. The lighting on his face as he looks outside an empty window looks like he is waiting for someone or something to come.
